What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a proven approach that improves behavior and enhances the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ABA focuses on understanding behavior patterns and implementing personalized interventions to promote positive behaviors, enhance communication skills, foster social interactions, and increase independence. Our dedicated team of professionals utilizes evidence-based techniques to create individualized treatment plans that address specific needs and goals. Through ABA, we empower individuals to reach their full potential and achieve meaningful progress.

Common Questions

When is the best time for my child to begin ABA therapy?

Simply stated: the earlier, the better, so that they can make significant improvements in their areas of deficit.

Does ABA therapy work for Autism?

ABA therapy is the gold standard for a clinically-validated and heavily researched approach to helping children with autism.

What ages do you work with?

We provide services to individuals across a wide range of ages, starting from early intervention for toddlers and continuing through adolescence. Our programs are tailored to meet the specific developmental needs of each individual.

Does my child need to have a formal autism diagnosis to get treatment?

Children are not required to have a diagnosis for treatment, but do need a formal diagnosis in order to receive coverage from insurance providers for the ABA Therapy.

How will ABA therapy help my child?

When starting the process for ABA services for your child a BCBA will complete and write up an assessment that will address the developmental deficiencies identified along with your child’s functioning across dozens of areas. With children on the autism spectrum, this often includes areas of verbal communication, like the ability to converse with parents and peers, request items, and communicate emotions and needs. Nonverbal communication, like making gestures and understanding social cues, can also be developed. Other important target areas of ABA include social skills, play skills, potty training, self-care skills (brushing teeth, washing hands, etc.), and day-to-day living skills (getting dressed, table manners, etc.).

Will my child receive one-on-one therapy?

Yes, our ABA programs typically involve one-on-one therapy sessions with a trained behavior therapist. However, we also incorporate group activities and social skills training when appropriate to promote generalization of skills in various settings.

How long does ABA therapy typically last?

The duration of ABA therapy can vary depending on the individual's needs and goals. Treatment length is determined through comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations. Our team will work closely with you to develop an individualized treatment plan and provide an estimated timeline.

How will progress be tracked and communicated?

We believe in open and transparent communication. Throughout the treatment process, we will regularly collect data to measure progress towards goals. Additionally, we will provide progress reports and hold periodic meetings to discuss your child's development, answer any questions, and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

Will ABA therapy be covered by insurance?

Many insurance providers cover ABA therapy, but coverage varies depending on your specific insurance plan. Our team will assist you in navigating the insurance process..

Do you only offer services through insurance?
